FAQ's

What is Auto-Trade?

Auto-Trade is a service brokers provide whereby clients grant “limited trading authority” rights to their brokerage account. The brokerage, with limited trading authority, has the ability to execute upon trade alerts the client authorizes for their account. Trade alerts can be based on newsletter service providers subscribed to by the client and are completely autonomous from the broker. Allocations for trade alerts are predefined by the client allowing the broker to size trades properly while executing upon trade alerts from the newsletter into the client account. The newsletter service provider has NO access to the client's brokerage account or capital.

How do I sign up for Auto-Trade?

First you would sign up for one of our portfolio(s) you’d like to follow.  Then you would open and fund an account with a participating broker, select the newsletter you signed up for, and select the number of units of each portfolio you would like to trade.  Full instructions are provided to subscribers.

What broker should I use for Auto-Trade?

For the Ultima Theta Portfolio you will need to use tastytrade (formerly tastyworks).

For the Z-Spreads portfolio you can use either tradier or tastytrade.

Open a tastyworks account: https://theotrade.com/tastytrade/

Open a tradier account: https://tradezaba.com/tradier/

Can I use my existing tastytrade (formerly tastyworks) account for auto-trade?

That depends.  If you want a tastytrade (formerly tastyworks) account to trade in yourself then no.  You only need a separate account if you want a tastytrade account to trade in yourself.  If you have an existing tastytrade account that can be used for auto-trade only, and no self-directed trades, then you can use that account for auto-trade.  If you already have a tastytrade account that you want to enter your own trades into then you will need a separate tastytrade account exclusively for auto-trade.   The system will not allow an existing tastytrade client to open a new account by going to www.tastyworks.com and then clicking ‘Open An Account’ (you will get a message saying that their email address is already being used).  Instead, you will need to login to your existing account at www.tastytrade.com, then on the welcome page after logging in, you need to scroll down about 1/3rd of the way down the page and then click the black button that says Open Another Account.  This will also save you some time because tastytrade will already have some of your information in the system that should populate. Here is a Help Center article that explains in better detail the process:

Does my Auto-Trade account have to be separate from other accounts?

Yes, you will need a separate account for Auto-Trade.

What kind of account can I Auto-Trade in?

This depends on which portfolio you sign up for and which broker you use.

Ultima Theta Portfolio - this can only be done in an individual portfolio margin account at tastytrade (formerly tastyworks).

Z-Spreads Portfolio - at tastytrade you will need to have an individual margin or IRA account with at least the Basic trading level plan (Basic is spreads).  At tradier you can have any account type that includes margin - individual, retirement accounts like IRA or 401K, business account, join account, or Trust.

Can I take my own trades in my Auto-Trade account?

No. You will not be able to open or close trades in your Auto-Trade account.  This is why you must have a separate account exclusively for Auto-Trade.

Does TradeZaba have access to my Auto-Trading account?

No. We have no access to your account.  We will not know how much money you have invested.

Can I have my account Auto-Traded if I live outside the United States?

Yes, but it depends on which country you live in.

tastytrade (formerly tastyworks) DOES support Auto-Trade in the following countries outside the United States:

Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, French Polynesia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Isle of Man, Israel, Italy, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, Namibia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Sharjah, Ra's al-Khaimah, Umm al-Qaiwain), UK, and Uruguay.

Tradier DOES NOT support Auto-Trade outside the United States, however if you open their brokerage account using a US residential address, or using a US entity (corporation, Trust), then that works.

Tradier DOES NOT open accounts for citizens in the following countries:

Afghanistan, Albania, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Barbados, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, British Virgin Islands, Brunei Darussalam, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Canada, Cayman Islands, Central African Republic, Chad, Colombia, Croatia, Cuba, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Guernsey, Guyana, Haiti, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Latvia, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Malta, Mauritius, Montenegro, Morocco, Myanmar, Nauru, Nicaragua, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Pakistan, Palau, Panama, Philippines, Republic of Moldova, Russian Federation, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United Republic of Tanzania, Vanuatu, Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of), Yemen, Zimbabwe

If I don’t want Auto-Trade can I just get the alerts and put the trades on myself?

Yes. We can send you the trades via text, push, and email.  After you join you’ll get an email with information on how to join the alerts.

When can I join a portfolio?

You can join a portfolio at any time.  However, understand that from the time you sign up to the time your broker enters trades in your account takes time.  There is the process of opening an account, funding, e-signing paperwork, getting allocated, and getting your account linked to auto-trade.  This process takes time.  The amount of time depends on you, which portfolio you choose, and which broker you use.

Do I have to pay commissions on Auto-Trades?

Yes. Just like any other trading account there are commissions.  At tastyworks it is $1 per contract with a $10 cap and no commission to close.  At tradier it is $10 per month for unlimited commission free trading.

What is the recommended number of units for the Z-Spreads Portfolio Allocation?

We recommend 1 unit per $10,000.  A unit is not the same as a contract. The Z-Spreads Portfolio is  allocating $500 of margin per trade so 1 unit equals approximately $500 of margin.  If a spread is $1 wide this will be 5 contracts per unit.  If the spread is $2.50 wide this is 2 contracts per unit.

How much is TradeZaba?

Each portfolio on TradeZaba is sold separately. You can learn more about each portfolio by going to our products page: https://tradezaba.com/products/

How do I cancel my subscription?

Each portfolio is sold on an annual basis.  You can cancel anytime and not be renewed for a subsequent year, but there are no prorated refunds.  Please email support@tradezaba.com to put in your cancellation request.

How much should I trade with?

Everyone's situation is different and this is something you'll need to figure out for yourself.  The Z-Spreads Portfolio requires a minimum of $10,000.  The Ultima Theta Portfolio requires a minimum of $250,000 because it’s a Portfolio Margin account.

How will I be notified of trades?

All trade alerts are sent via email.  Text messaging and push notification are available to those who opt in for them.  The members' area will also have a page to view the current positions.

Is my capital protected from loss?

No. All trades come with some level of risk. With an 80% to 90% success rate, we expect to have 2 losing months for every 12 month period. Losses will happen and we feel that the consistent success of our strategies will more than make up for any losses that we incur.

Do you guarantee monthly returns?

No, we cannot guarantee any type of performance but our goal is to earn 25% each year. We have over two decades of trading experience and have helped our members navigate through the most turbulent waters of the stock market.

Should an “options newbie” subscribe to a TradeZaba Portfolio?

Many of our subscribers are new to options.  Auto-Trade is ideal for those who either don’t have time to trade themselves or do not have the time to learn options themselves.   If you do have time to fully learn the strategies we recommend subscribing to our educational website TheoTrade.com

Do you use puts or calls in your portfolios?

We use both puts and calls in our portfolios.

How risky are your strategies?

Options are leveraged investments and involve a higher degree of risk than most conventional investments (otherwise, the high returns that we have enjoyed would not be possible). However, since all of our strategies involve being both long and short options concurrently or include hedges in the case of the Ultima Theta Portfolio, we have some protection against the market moving in either direction.

How many trades do you place each week/month?

This varies based on the portfolio, the movement of the underlying stock/index, and the time of the month.  Generally each portfolio has at least one trade a week  though trades are also placed whenever they are called for by our trading rules.

After I’ve opened and funded a tradier account how do I connect my account to the Z-Spreads Portfolio?

Within 24 hours of your funds clearing you will get 2 emails from Global Auto Trading.  First email will have the subject line: New User Details and will contain your login credentials to Global Auto Trading.  Second email will have the subject line: New Global AutoTrading web site user for your linked Tradier account.  This email will provide you with instructions to follow.  You will then be able to set your allocation within Global.

What is the recommended number of units for the Ultima Theta Portfolio and how do I set the allocation in my tastytrade (formerly tastyworks)?

We recommend 1 unit per $250,000.  In order to be authorized to set allocation you must email support@tradezaba.com the EXACT email address you’re using for your tastytrade (formerly tastyworks) account.

Then by the next trading day after 10 AM CT you will be able to set your allocation following the step by step instructions tastytrade has provided: https://support.tastyworks.com/support/solutions/articles/43000622741-setting-up-autotrade

What is the recommended number of units for the Z-Spreads Portfolio and how do I set the allocation in my tastytrade (formerly tastyworks)?

We recommend 1 unit per $10,000.

After allocation is set in my tastytrade (formerly tastyworks) account when should I expect to see trades entered into my account?

It can take up to 2 weeks from the time allocation is set to see trades in your account.  During that time you may see alerts sent out, but the trades not executed in your account.  That is completely normal.  There is dev time to code your account to be linked to the auto-trade program.
